Mason District Hospital Announces New CEO

Havana, Illinois – Mason District Hospital’s Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that Dana Adcock, MBA has been named as the new Chief Executive Officer for Mason District Hospital. Beginning Monday, March 18th, Dana will provide strategic and operational leadership and ensure high quality care for the 25-bed critical access hospital and Rural Health Clinics.

The Mason District Hospital Board of Trustees worked with Adkisson Search Consultants to conduct a nationwide search for a new CEO beginning in November 2023. After an in-depth process with input from the Board, community members and management team, the Board interviewed several candidates from various backgrounds. Ultimately, Dana stood out as the ideal candidate based on her experience leading critical access hospitals, as well as her passion for rural healthcare, and high level of energy and enthusiasm. 

Hospital Board Chairman Bill Blessman stated, “We are very pleased to welcome Dana to Mason District Hospital, the community and our entire service area.  We are most impressed with her values and leadership style which include integrity, compassion, accountability and excellence.  Dana has many years of executive leadership experience which will be of great benefit to our mission at MDH.  She is anxious to get started and form relationships with our patients and staff.  Dana has a strong desire to be a part of the MDH family and to get involved in the community.”

Dana, an accomplished and visionary leader, brings a wealth of experience to Mason District Hospital. With a proven record of driving excellence and growth, Dana is poised to lead MDH into the future. Dana brings to the position over 30 years of diverse experience in the healthcare industry, including 20+ years of executive/strategic healthcare management experience. In Dana’s most recent role as Vice President at OSF Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth, Illinois, she successfully completed a Master Facility Plan that included five major construction projects and the addition of new clinical services. Her commitment to growth and excellent patient experience aligns perfectly with MDH’s mission, making her an excellent cultural fit for the organization. Dana holds a  Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration from Western Illinois University. Dana has been involved in the Illinois Critical Access Network and American College of Healthcare Executives.

Dana, along with her husband David, are eager to become a part of the community. “It is a true honor to be selected as the new CEO of Mason District Hospital. I am looking forward to getting to know the community and collaborating with the employees and providers of the facility. My passion for rural health care will ensure our community members will always have access to the best care locally,” said Adcock.
