Our Management Team
Michelle S. Houchin, CMPE - President Michelle Houchin, President of Adkisson Search Consultants joined the firm in 2002. She has held the positions of Account Manager, Vice- President of Recruitment and is a Partner with the firm. In addition to managing the daily operations of the company she works closely with her clients fulfilling their search needs. Michelle believes the success of Adkisson Search Consultants is the result of the positive relationships built and the dedication and high quality of work produced. Michelle is certified by the American College of Medical Practice Executives. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, IN and has earned the designation of Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS). Before joining ACI, Michelle was the Senior Network Development Coordinator who was responsible for overseeing the national provider network at Eye Care Plan of America, a vision managed care company. Michelle has also worked for Arnett Managed HealthPlans in Lafayette, IN.
Shannon L. McKay - Vice-President Shannon McKay joined Adkisson Search Consultants in 2002 as a search consultant. Her hard work, commitment and integrity are the assets that helped her to become a Partner with Adkisson Search Consultants in 2006. Shannon is now dedicated to growing Adkisson Search Consultants to be a premier physician and executive search firm. Her knowledge of the market, coupled with her extensive recruiting experience makes her an exceptional resource and true consultant to help a variety of institutions ranging from small rural hospitals to large academic medical groups across the country achieve success. Shannon received her Bachelor of Arts in Corporate Communication with a Minor in Journalism from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL. Upon graduating, she worked as a recruiter of Information Technology business professionals for the support and development of business applications.
Billy D. Adkisson, MBA, FACHE, FAAHC, CMPE - Founder Billy Adkisson is the founder of Adkisson Search Consultants, Inc. For the past 25 years, Billy has been a prominent consultant and successful entrepreneur in the physician recruitment industry. He is board certified by the American College of Healthcare Executives, the American Association of Healthcare Consultants, and the American College of Medical Practice Executives. In addition, he is a Fellow of both ACHE and AAHC. Billy started two successful physician recruiting firms, James Russell, Inc. (JR) and Adkisson Consultants, Inc. (ACI). After selling JR, which at the time was one of the top five recruiting firms in the nation, Billy took a brief retirement and then launched ACI in 2001. As an entrepreneur in the physician recruiting industry, Billy is proud of the fact that in both companies, over 90% of the search assignments accepted were filled. Billy believes his partners have the expertise to produce an even higher ratio and continue the success of the company.
